Cleveland officials briefed by Secret Service on RNC preparations

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Agents with the U.S. Secret Service met with Cleveland City Council members Wednesday regarding security preparations for the Republican National Convention. 

The Secret Service is collaborating with the City of Cleveland on the design and implementation of the overall security plan for the RNC. They're also responsible for all dignitary protection.

During Wednesday's meeting, the Secret Service provided a description of their role and of event security in general.
