VIETNAM — A bear who spent years on a bear bile farm is shown in a heartwarming video jumping for joy in the water on one of his first days outside after being rescued.

AnimalsAsia posted the video to YouTube and on its website back in April.

According to the AnimalsAsia website, Tuffy the bear was rescued in September after spending years in a small cage on the farm.

He’s been going through rehabilitation after years of having his bile extracted. Bile is used to  make some types of medicines.

Tuffy’s gallbladder was removed, and doctors found several gallstones after he was rescued.

Once he was treated and ready to go outside, he couldn’t get enough of the water.

“Coming from years of little or no water, for Tuffy this must feel like a true oasis after being parched and in pain for so long. It must have felt like such a relief to have the freedom to splash around in the water after only being able to stand on the hard metal bars of the bile farm cage,” said Animals Asia bear manager Louise Ellis.
