CANTON, Ohio — A special statue has been created to honor Canton police K-9 Jethro. The K-9 Police Association asked Utah sculptor Lena Toritch to do a life-size statue of Jethro, who was shot and killed in the line of duty in January.

The statue was unveiled at the 2016 Blues Brothers Bash Ohio– the largest Law Enforcement Event in Ohio– Friday night in Canton, and was a surprise to Jethro’s partner, Officer Ryan Davis.

The statue will eventually be the centerpiece of the newly designed police K9 dog memorial cemetery.
