Uncle charged in shooting of 7-year-old Sandusky boy

SANDUSKY, Ohio– The Sandusky Police Department is asking for help finding the uncle of a young shooting victim.

The 7-year-old boy was shot Sunday afternoon in the upstairs of a duplex on Center Street in Sandusky.

The boy told officers his uncle, Ervin Clinton Jr., accidentally shot him, according to Det. Ken Nixon. Earlier in the investigation, police were trying to determine if the boy shot himself.

The bullet stuck the child in the nose and exited near his ear. He’s expected to make a full recovery.

Clinton is wanted for felony child endangering. Anyone with information his whereabouts should call the Sandusky Police Department at 419-627-5863.
