AKRON, Ohio -- Allegiant has announced the beginning of its new, non-stop service from the Akron-Canton Airport to Orlando Sanford International Airport.

To celebrate the new flights, Allegiant is offering one-way fares on the new route for as low as $44, according to a press release.

The year-round service will operate twice per week starting today.

“We knew that there was demand for low-cost, nonstop flights to Orlando from northeast Ohio, and we’re confident that Akron / Canton travelers will take advantage of these new flights,” said Jude Bricker, Allegiant chief operating officer. “The community has truly embraced Allegiant’s model of low-cost and convenient travel, and we look forward to continuing to provide vacation opportunities for local travelers this summer.”

It makes the sixth non-stop destination from Akron-Canton Airport, according to the release.
