Cleveland Indians defeat Cincinnati Reds in 12 innings

CINCINNATI – The Cleveland Indians topped the Cincinnati Reds  8-7 on Wednesday night. The game went 12 innings.

Tonight’s game was the third in a four-game series against the Reds. The Indians won the first game 15-6 and the second game 13-1.

The Indians held the lead through 5 and 1/2 innings, but the Reds had a strong 5th inning, scoring 5 runs.

Clevinger started for the Indians, pitching 5 and 1/3. He allowed 5 hits, 4 runs and struck out 5 batters.

The Reds host the Indians in game 4 Thursday night.
