CLEVELAND– The North Ridgeville High School football team will get new helmets, thanks in part to the Cleveland Browns.

Browns Executive Vice President of Football Operations Sashi Brown will present coach Luke Durbin and the Rangers with the helmets, valued at $25,000, during Browns Fan Fest on Saturday. (More information on fan fest here)

North Ridgeville High School was selected by HELMETS, a program from the Browns, University Hospitals and UnitedHealthcare to improve the safety of young athletes. Cleveland quarterback Robert Griffin III and lineman Cam Erving surprised the team with the good news.

“North Ridgeville is an outstanding example of a high school and coaching staff committed to providing students with the knowledge and resources they need to protect themselves on the field,” said Tom Sullivan, UnitedHealthcare Executive Director of Northern Ohio.
