Lake Erie Monsters take Game 3 win over Grand Rapids Griffins

GRAND RAPIDS – The Lake Erie Monsters now have a 3-0 series lead over the Grand Rapids Griffins with their win on Sunday.

They’re now looking for a sweep with a Game 4 win on Tuesday.

The Monsters took an early 1-0 lead after a defensive turnover by the Griffins. The Monsters scored again in the second period to take a 2-0 lead.

They allowed the Griffins to score, but held strong throughout the third period to keep the score at 2-1.

With a Game 4 win, the Monsters would advance to the third round of the Calder Cup Playoffs for the first time in franchise history.
