ASHTABULA COUNTY, OH  – A 61-year-old pizza delivery driver was killed when his car was hit by another vehicle Thursday evening.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reports that Orville Rice, of Geneva, was delivering pizza for Domino’s. As he turned left into a driveway on North Myers Road, he was hit by a car that came from behind him, trying to pass another car.   Although he was wearing a seatbelt, his injuries were too severe and he was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The other car rolled onto its roof. The 25-year-old driver was wearing a seatbelt and suffered minor injuries.

The patrol says that alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash and is still investigating the accident.
