Employee escapes gas station explosion unharmed

ASHLAND, Ohio — Investigators with the Ashland Fire Department are trying to figure out what sparked an explosion at a gas station and convenience store early this morning.

The explosion happened at the Mobil gas station on East Main Street around 3:20 a.m. Tuesday.

The fire department told Fox 8 an employee was inside the store when the blast happened, but the employee was not hurt.

Firefighters quickly contained the fire.
