PARMA HEIGHTS, Ohio -- A Parma Heights dentist was arrested and charged after a search warrant was executed at his office on York Road.

The State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy began an investigation with the Parma Heights Police Department last month after getting an anonymous complaint accusing  Dr. David R. Beckman of questionable prescribing habits.

The alleged activity, according to the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy, included illegal processing of drug documents, and deception to obtain dangerous drugs.

Dr. Beckman was arrested at his office and taken to jail. Authorities say evidence taken from his office included patient charts and prescription drugs.

The doctor was arraigned Friday in Parma Municipal Court. Bond was set at $5,000 and the case was bound over to the Cuyahoga County Grand Jury. Additional charges will be presented to them.
