Cleveland Browns select Emmanuel Ogbah with first pick in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft
CHICAGO – The Cleveland Browns selected Emmanuel Ogbah with the first pick in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
Ogbah was a defensive lineman at Oklahoma State. He was the Big 12 Co-Defensive Player of the Year.
Head Coach Hue Jackson was very happy with the selection:
“Obviously, he’s an edge rusher. The guy is 6’4” 275lbs and has 4.6 speed…This guy brings a dynamic on defense. We say we want to be suffocating and we understand that we have to affect the quarterback in our division and throughout pro football. This guy has that element. He can do that. We are looking forward to him being here and again adding another really good player to our football team.”
At the end of last season, the Browns had the 2nd pick. Last week they traded with the Eagles for the 8th pick. On Thursday night, just before they were set to select, they traded with the Titans for the 15th pick.
The Browns gave up a 6th round pick as well at the 8th pick. In return, they got another third round pick and a second round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
