Man killed in Amherst Township accident

AMHERST TOWNSHIP, OH –  A pedestrian was struck and killed in a Friday evening accident in Amherst Township.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol tells Fox 8 that Christopher Stoltz, 26, of Vermilion, was walking on Middle Ridge Road around 8:30 p.m. when he was struck by a pick-up truck. The driver of the truck was not injured. Stoltz was taken to the hospital, but his injuries were too severe and he died shortly after 9 p.m. Friday.

The Patrol says that no charges have been filed. It’s not known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident, which remains under investigation.
