Body of man found in home that caught fire in Rootstown

ROOTSTOWN, Ohio — The dead body of a man was found in a home that caught fire in Rootstown Wednesday.

According to the Portage County Sheriff’s Office, the fire was reported at about 7:50 a.m. at a house on Smith Avenue.

The fire was out in minutes, but the body of a male was found inside the house.

Authorities say the fire is still under investigation. But they plan to release more information Thursday morning.
