CINCINNATI – It has been one year since Lauren Hill passed away after a battle with cancer.
According to FOX 19, her family is continuing to work toward raising more money for cancer research.
Hill battled DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma.)
In 2014, Hill made two layups during a game at Xavier’s Cintas Center, reaching her goal of playing college basketball with Mount St. Joseph University despite her illness.
A month later, she entered hospice care.
While she was still alive, she raised nearly $1 million.
Since her passing, her mother says $1.2 million more has been raised.
