MANSFIELD, OH – A home invasion suspect is in the hospital after being shot multiple times by the intended victim’s son.

The Richland County Sheriff tell Fox 8 that early Sunday morning, three suspects broke into a home on Kentucky Avenue in Mansfield. They assaulted and threatened the woman who was in the home. During this, her son, who was in the basement of the home, came upstairs and shot one of the suspects a number of times, holding the man at gunpoint until sheriff’s deputies arrived.

The other two suspects escaped, but the woman was able to give a description of them. Drugs and other evidence were also found at the scene and police are now searching for the two. Anyone with information on them is being asked to call the Sheriff’s non-emergency line at  419-524-2412.
