Route 30 in Canton back open after series of crashes

CANTON, Ohio– Icy conditions several crashes on U.S. Route 30 in Canton Friday morning.

Canton police said U.S. Route 30 was closed in both directions at Interstate 77 because of an overturned truck with a trailer. It reopened shortly before 8 a.m.

Within 30 minutes, there were four crashes involving nine cars, including a police cruiser. Canton police said the officer was taken a report for another accident when the car was hit from behind.

She was taken to Aultman Hospital for minor injuries. Another person was also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
