New Franklin man arrested for making threats against mayor, local school officials

NEW FRANKLIN, Ohio – Russell Kleckner was arrested on Friday after a lengthy investigation by the New Franklin police.

Over the last 3 months, police say several threats were made against Manchester School Board Members, the Manchester Superintendent and the Mayor of New Franklin.

Police spent time watching several post offices around the New Franklin and Green areas.

On Friday, officer spotted Kleckner. He had four letters addressed to city officials.

When authorities searched his home, they found a computer used to write the letters and a letter that had not yet been mailed to the Manchester Superintendent.

Kleckner was charged with one count of aggravated menacing, one count of menacing by stalking and five counts of menacing.

He will appear in court on April 7.
