Suspect in drive thru robbery considered ‘armed and dangerous’

FREEDOM TWP., Portage Co. — The Portage County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help identifying the suspect in an armed robbery at a drive thru Friday night.

The robbery happened at about 9:42 p.m. at Detour Drive Thru, 6869 state Route 303.

The suspect pulled a gun on the clerk and demanded money. Once the suspect had the money, he walked from the drive thru and got into a vehicle that left heading east on state Route 303.

The clerk was not harmed.

The suspect was described as being between 40 and 50 years old, standing about 6 feet tall and weighing around 175 pounds. He had long brown hair with a pony tail, facial hair in the style of a goatee and was wearing glasses.

He was also wearing a black baseball cap and a green army jacket with a hood and an orange liner.

The suspect had a blue shirt on under the jacket and was wearing blue jean pants and white tennis shoes.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.

The getaway car is described as being a late-model Pontiac Vibe or Pontiac Torrent, silver in color. The vehicle may not have a front license plate.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
