Akron police searching for car involved in hit-and-run

AKRON, Ohio- Akron police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that happened at the intersection of Darrow Road and Eastlawn Avenue around 9 p.m. Friday.

“Wear your seat belts, seat belts save lives,” said Cory Jameson. “I’m sad they didn’t stop, but I’m just going to let police do what they need to do.”

Jameson, 17, is a student at Ellet High School in Akron and was driving a small Honda when the accident happened. He spent last night in the hospital, but thankfully his injuries weren't very serious.

He said he was not speeding.

Police said they are looking for a red mid-sized vehicle, but right now there is no description of the driver.
