CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Five orphaned cheetah cubs are getting a helping paw from an Australian shepherd dog named Blakely.

The five cubs were born via C-section on March 8 at the zoo's cheetah breeding facility in Clermont County. Their mother, Willow, died about two weeks after giving birth.

Ever since, the cubs have been getting around-the-clock critical care.

But the zoo says the five cubs that have been getting around-the-clock critical care are doing much better, are gaining weight and are getting stronger.

Zoo officials say Blakely is the zoo's resident nursery companion and former nanny to several zoo babies. She provides snuggling, comfort and a body to climb for the little cubs.
