Alcohol believed to be a factor in Medina crash

MEDINA, Ohio -- The Medina Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating after a serious crash in Granger Township early Friday morning.

Alcohol is suspected to have been involved in the crash.

At about 3 a.m., a 2002 Jeep Cherokee driven by a 21-year-old woman was traveling south on State Road when she lost control of the vehicle. She went off the left side of the road, hit a culvert and was ejected onto the roadway.

The woman was flown to Akron City Hospital with serious injuries.

The woman was wearing her seat belt.
