Police arrest 9 in Lorain, Elyria drug investigation

LORAIN, Ohio– Lorain and Elyria’s narcotics units teamed up to arrest nine people following a six-month drug investigation.

On Tuesday, detectives seized 435 grams of heroin, 1,020 grams of cocaine and 7 pounds of marijuana. The Lorain Police Department said the estimated street value is about $200,000.

They also recovered six handguns, six cars, three motorcycles, three ATVs and $83,445 in cash.

The following people were arrested and charged with engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity:

Hugo Lopez, 45
David Pena, 32
Rafael Esquilin, 34
Enid Rojas, 40
Eric Corn, 29
Bobbie L. Corn, 35
Angel Rivera, 61
Jonathon Barnette, 19
Eliezer Claudio, 25

The U.S. Marshals Service arrested Lopez and Pena in Florida. The others were caught in Lorain.

They were taken to the Lorain City Jail and bond was set at $1 million. Police said more charges are expected.
