City designates ‘super hero’ parking spots for veterans, officers and firefighters

COCOA, Fla. — It’s the grand prize when you pull up to a building: front space parking.

But would you give up that prime spot to a veteran, police officer or firefighter?

USA Today reports that one Florida city has rolled out the first “post-preferred parking privileges” outside its city hall.

Three spots outside of city hall in the city of Cocoa are reserved for veterans, officers and firefighters. More are planned for a busy municipal lot nearby.

The buzz also caught the attention of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, which is also adopting the policy.
