Man forced from car at gunpoint at Cleveland Clinic in Strongsville, suspect arrested

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio -- Police are investigating after a man said he was carjacked at Cleveland Clinic, 16761 SouthPark Center, in Strongsville.

Police say the victim parked his vehicle in the south parking lot at around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. He said another man approached his vehicle with a gun and ordered him out of the car.

The victim got out of the vehicle, and the suspect drove away. The stolen vehicle exited on Howe Road and made its way to Interstate 71.

A short time later, Cleveland police spotted the stolen vehicle, which was a 2016 black Chevy Traverse, on Broadway Avenue. The occupant was arrested and turned over to Strongsville police.

The case is still under investigation.

Cleveland Clinic released the following statement in response to the incident;

"The safety of our visitors, patients and employees is our top priority. We appreciate the immediate response by the Strongsville Police Department and are fully cooperating with their ongoing investigation."
