LORAIN COUNTY, OH –  Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers tried to stop a stolen car in Medina County, and wound up on a multi-county pursuit before catching their suspects.

Troopers saw the car, which had been reported stolen, around 1:40 p.m. in Medina County on I-71. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop, heading north on 71, onto 480 west and then onto State Route 20 in Lorain County. That’s where the suspect stopped the car in the middle of the road.

Both people inside the car were arrested. But before they were, troopers from the Medina Highway Patrol Post, the Cleveland Metro Post, the Elyria Post as well as a number of different local agencies  took part in the chase.

Charges are still pending against the suspects, who both had active warrants out for their arrests.
