LORAIN COUNTY, Ohio -- Two school districts are on high alert after four girls were assaulted, all at different times.

All four girls involved are safe, but a suspect is still on the run, and the Elyria and Lorain police departments are trying to determine if all the incidents are connected.

In Lorain, three different girls -- one a middle school student and two elementary school students -- were inappropriately approached, grabbed or assaulted by a man during their walk to school Thursday morning.

Lorain schools were on lockdown for the day, and an alert was sent out to parents telling them to speak with their children with how to respond to a stranger. All three girls yelled, fought and ran to safety.

The suspect was described as white, in his mid 20s or 30s, 5'10" tall and wearing dark clothing and possibly a mask.

Now, police and the FBI are trying to see if that incidents are connected to an Elyria incident.

In Elyria, around 3:45 a.m. Thursday, a man with a similar description tried to abduct a 10-year-old girl from her bedroom.

She was able to get away, but so was the suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
