BROOKLYN, Ohio– A fire at Brooklyn High School’s stadium late last year was ruled arson.

A neighbor reported the blaze just after midnight on Dec. 29. When fire crews arrived, the entire grandstand was engulfed in flames.

On Tuesday, Brooklyn Fire Chief Joseph Zemek said the fire was intentionally set. The Ohio State Fire Marshal, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are investigating.

Authorities do not have a motive and are narrowing suspects, Zemek said.

The fire destroyed the locker rooms, concession stands and storage areas. Steel beams were also damaged.
