CLEVELAND-- A man was rescued from the inside of a garbage truck early Monday morning.

The truck operator heard someone banging on the inside as he pulled up to a gas station on Broadview Road.

Firefighters opened the truck and the 29-year-old victim rolled out along with a large amount of trash, Cleveland police said.

He was intoxicated and was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center for a fractured ankle.

On Saturday, a man was found dead inside a garage truck in Fairlawn. It appears he died from being crushed by the compactor.
