BARSTOW, California – When his girlfriend’s dog Benny lost the use of his back legs, James Paniagua decided that he was going to do his best to help.
He told ABC News that the couple has had the dog for years. One morning Benny woke up unable to use his legs, and knowing an MRI and surgery were expensive, the couple didn’t know what else to do.
Paniagua did some research into dog wheelchairs, but they were expensive and often customized. He figured PVC pipes would do the trick.
“This was something I wanted to do for now, so he’s comfortable,” said Paniagua. “It’s a temporary fix until we can we get his surgery done and then he’ll be rocking and rolling again.”
