LORAIN, Ohio-- The Lorain Police Department is asking the public to be on the lookout for a car after a woman was attacked.

It happened at the Parkview Motel on West Erie Avenue early Wednesday morning. Police said the manager was beaten and bound while the suspect stole her car.

The vehicle is a gray Toyota Camry with Ohio license plate FIA-5357.

The suspect may be armed. Police did not provide a description of the suspect.

Anyone with information should call Detective Denman at 440-204-2105.

Leon Mason, the Director of Building in the City of Lorain sent Fox 8 the following statement:

It should be noted that the Parkview Motel was closed and condemned due to numerous public health and safety issues, late last fall. Furthermore, their motel license was turned into the Ohio State Fire Marshall.

The owner, Mukesh Desai agreed to demo two of the four structures at the property by October 31, 2015 but to date, has done nothing and reneged on his agreement with the City of Lorain's demo board. Furthermore, he informed the board members that it was an office, not a residence. The owner was in my office last week, explaining that he would be out of the country, but would address the issues (demo) that are already three months past due.

It is unfortunate what has happened to the person at the motel and I hope that the perpetrator(s) is/are apprehended. This unfortunately solidifies that we as the City, were correct in our determination to close the motel due to public health and safety issues.
