Daryush Valizadeh is a blogger known for his controversial books that tell men the best methods to have sex with women and advocates that rape be made legal inside a private home.

Earlier this week, he announced on his blog that there would be meetups for male supporters across the U.S.

One event was scheduled to happen in Cincinnati. Police in at least one city were warning women to stay away from the events, believing they may potentially be a way to lure them there.

Wednesday night, Valizadeh released a statement on his blog, Return of Kings, to cancel the meetups. He said that safety concerns for the men attending prompted the cancellations.

Read the entire statement here:

I can no longer guarantee the safety or privacy of the men who want to attend on February 6, especially since most of the meetups can not be made private in time. While I can’t stop men who want to continue meeting in private groups, there will be no official Return Of Kings meetups. The listing page has been scrubbed of all locations. I apologize to all the supporters who are let down by my decision.
