1 killed in train vs. SUV crash in Barberton

BARBERTON, Ohio -- One man is dead after an SUV vs. train accident in Barberton, according to the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office.

It happened at about 6:15 a.m. at train tracks near Wooster Road in Barberton.

A press release states that when the SUV approached the railroad tracks, it traveled around other vehicles and the lowered railroad crossing gates. The SUV was then hit by the train.

The victim is a middle-aged male. He has not yet been identified.

The vehicle involved is demolished and sitting next to the tracks.
