Troopers find $95,000 in marijuana during Sandusky County traffic stop

FREMONT, Ohio– Ohio troopers discovered 21 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop in Sandusky County on Wednesday.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol pulled over a car on the Ohio Turnpike at about 11:40 a.m. for slow sped and an unsafe lane change.

According to the patrol, troopers spotted raw marijuana in the center console. A search of the car turned up $95,130 worth of pot in the trunk.

The driver, 21-year-old Russell F. Hines, of Ashland, Oregon, was taken to the Sandusky County Jail. He was charged with possession and trafficking in marijuana.
