Husband, wife found shot to death in rented SUV

ELYRIA, Ohio -- Police in Elyria are trying to figure out what led to a shooting that left a man and a woman dead.

Elyria police were called to Foxhill Lane for reports of shots fired just after 10 p.m. Sunday, according to a news release from Elyria Police.

When officers arrived, they found Michael L. Lewis, 32, and his wife, Fannie M. Lewis, 22, dead inside inside of a rented Chevrolet Traverse with New York plates.

Capt. Chris Constantino, of the Elyria Police Department, told Fox 8's Stacey Frey that the couple is from Elyria. Their connection to the address where the shooting happened was unknown.

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.
