CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A significant amount of marijuana was found in a Warehouse District apartment where two men were shot to death Thursday night, sources say.

It all happened at about 8:30 p.m. Officers responded to the 1215 W. 10th St. complex for a reported robbery.

When they arrived, one man was found on the living room floor with a gunshot to the head. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A second male was found in a hallway with a gunshot to the lower back. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the victims lived there and were in the apartment with three other males at the time. The suspects entered and shot the two victims.

A resident in the building said he came home Thursday night to a lot of commotion and police telling him he couldn't come into his building.

"It's pretty quiet for the most part in there, so it kind of surprised me that there's an alleged incident of crime one floor above me," said Taylor Dye.

Archer apartment officials released the following statement regarding the situation:

"We are deeply saddened and concerned to learn that there was a situation at our property which resulted in the death of two people. While the police continue to work on their investigation, our team is assisting as requested including providing security footage. There is nothing more important than the safety of our residents and our on site team. Further statements about this situation may be made by the police as their investigation continues."
