Adele, Kendrick Lamar to perform at Grammy’s
Adele is not up for a Grammy this year, but you’ll still get to hear her sing at next month’s music awards show. She and acclaimed rapper Kendrick Lamar top the initial list of artists scheduled to perform live at the 59th annual Grammys on February 15 .Country group Little Big Town and pop/R&B singer the Weeknd also will perform, with additional artists to be announced soon.

2015 is warmest year on record, NOAA and NASA say
Last year was the Earth’s warmest since record-keeping began in 1880, the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and NASA said Wednesday. It’s been clear for quite some time that 2015 would steal the distinction of the hottest year from 2014, with 10 out of the 12 months last year being the warmest respective months on record — and those records go back 136 years.

Kent State University professor under investigation for possible terrorist ties
The FBI and Homeland Security are investigating Julio Pino, an associate professor of history, at Kent State University. A joint terrorism task force has reportedly been investigating Pino for a year and a half. The task force has interviewed several faculty members and more than a dozen students. Our Stacey Frey went to Pino’s home today, but he would not come to the door to comment.

2 elderly sisters die in Cleveland house fire
Two elderly sisters died in a fire that broke out at a Cleveland house fire around 2:20 a.m. this morning. Two men were also there at the time, and one attempted to save the women when he realized the home was on fire. Both men survived. Fire investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire.
