Two men murdered overnight in two separate Akron bar fights

AKRON, Ohio -- Two men were killed in two different Akron bar fights overnight.

According to Akron police, at around 11 p.m. Thursday, a 39-year-old man was shot in the torso during a fight at Hi-De-Ho Lounge on Vernon Odom Boulevard.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

A warrant for aggravated murder was signed for Willie Steve Hicks III, 44, of Akron. He's described as being 6'1" tall and weighing 180 pounds. He is also described as being bald.

In a separate incident at just after midnight Friday, a 43-year-old man was involved in a physical fight with a disc jockey at the Zodiac Tavern on Triplett Boulevard.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he died.

The suspect, Robert T. Jarvis, 64, of Lakemore, fled before officers arrived, but he later turned himself into detectives.
