Police arrest suspect in Akron bar murder in Cleveland

AKRON, Ohio– The suspect who shot and killed a man at an Akron bar has been arrested, police say.

Officers were called to the Hi-De-Ho Lounge on Vernon Odom Boulevard just after 11 p.m. Thursday. Police said the 39-year-old victim suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was taken to Akron General Medical Center, where he died.

Other customers at the bar identified the shooter at 44-year-old Willie Steve Hicks, of Akron.

Akron police said Hicks was arrested in Cleveland Friday afternoon for aggravated murder.

The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Lentheric Caldwell, of Akron.
