PITTSFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio– A 41-year-old man passed away after a one-car crash in Lorain County Wednesday night.

Kip McGraw, of Sullivan, was driving on Kipton Nickle-Plate Road in Pittsfield Township at about 9:30 p.m. The Ohio State Highway Patrol said McGraw went off the side of the road, hit a sign, a ditch and a tree before his car overturned.

A medical helicopter was called, but McGraw died from his injuries at the scene.

The highway patrol said he was not wearing a seatbelt, and unsafe speed and alcohol appear to be factors.

This the first fatal crash in Lorain County this year.
