LAKEWOOD, Ohio-- The Cleveland Clinic announced several changes coming to Lakewood Hospital following city council's approval of the plan last month.

Construction on the new family health center is slated to begin later this year at the corner of Belle and Detroit avenues. The new $34 million facility is expected to open in 2018.

All 860 Lakewood Hospital employees will be offered jobs within the Cleveland Clinic system, with about 200 of them remaining at the facility during the transition.

According to the Clinic, inpatient services at Lakewood Hospital will end Feb. 5. The emergency department will stay open until the new health center's own emergency room is up and running.

The following services will remain at Lakewood Hospital:

Lab services
Cardiovascular testing
Chronic Care Clinic
