RICHFIELD, Ohio– A portion of Interstate 77 in Richfield was closed Monday afternoon because of a car fire.

It happened in the northbound lanes near the Ohio Turnpike.

Richfield police said the highway was blocked off because of a car on fire, which resulted in icy conditions from the water used to extinguish the blaze. There is no estimate when I-77 will be reopened.
