Pregnant woman dies after being struck by car while crossing street in Ravenna

RAVENNA, Ohio– A woman was killed and a man was injured after they were hit by a vehicle while crossing the street in Ravenna.

Ravenna police responded to the intersection of W Main St. and Oakwood St. on Dec. 26 at 8:42 p.m. The officers found two victims: Keanyanna Marsh, 34; and Herbert Stacey, 35, both from Ravenna.

Marsh was seriously injured and passed away later that evening at the hospital.  Ravenna police say Marsh was pregnant. Stacey suffered minor injuries.

According to what witnesses told police, Marsh and Stacey were crossing W Main St. at Oakwood St. from the north side to the south side of the road.  Road conditions were reported to be poor with rain. Traffic light status and other factors are being looked at as part of the investigation.

The 20-year-old Ravenna man who was driving the car that struck the pedestrians has not been charged at this time.
