Fire station hit by gunfire on city’s east side

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Police are investigating after a fire station was hit with gunfire Monday.

Police say it happened at Station 36 on East 131st Street.

Firefighters were on a run around 3 p.m. and heard gunfire. When they returned to the station, they saw a gunshot through the window of the station. A bullet had struck one of the fire apparatus windshields, cracking it.

No one was at the station when the shooting happened.

The incident is still under investigation, and there are no suspects.
