Woman killed in Christmas hit-and-run crash identified

CLEVELAND-- One person was killed and another injured during a hit-and-run crash in Cleveland on Christmas Day.

It happened just before 3 a.m. on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Buckeye Road.

Cleveland police said a 2004 Chevrolet Impala sped down the street and through a red light, hitting a Buick LeSabre. The force of the crash pushed the LeSabre into a traffic pole and a tree, while the Impala hit two utility poles.

According to police, the driver of the Impala got out of the car around East 108th Street and ran off.

The driver of the other car was severely injured and his passenger was killed in the crash. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as 33-year-old Classie B. Fryer, of Cleveland. Police said she was a mother of five.
