Driver accused of crashing into Amherst home, killing local mother indicted

AMHERST, Ohio -- A Lorain County woman is officially charged in the death of a local mother, killed when a car plowed through her living room.

Adrianna M. Young, 24, of Oberlin, is accused of driving her car off the right side of the road, through a grassy field and into the home of Debra Majkut, 34, and her family in July.

Majkut was in the living room with her then five-month-old son, Jaxon, at the time. The vehicle hit both of them. Majkut passed away, and Jaxson was rescued when neighbors lifted the car, allowing his older brother, Jacob, 12, to crawl underneath to get him.

Young faces charges of aggravated vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and possession of drugs.

She is set to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon.
