ODOT preparing for lake effect snow this weekend
CLEVELAND – The Ohio Department of Transportation is preparing for the lake effect snow moving in Friday afternoon.
Roads in the northeastern counties, like Lake and Ashtabula, have been treated with a salt brine (a salt/water mix) which helps prevent ice and snow from sticking to the roadways.
Both Lake and Ashtabula counties are under a Lake Effect Snow Advisory until 10 p.m. Saturday. Accumulation is not expected to be too substantial.
ODOT warns drivers that even if there is not much accumulation, the moisture and cold temperatures can change road conditions quickly.
