CLEVELAND – The Ohio Department of Transportation is preparing for the lake effect snow moving in Friday afternoon.

Roads in the northeastern counties, like Lake and Ashtabula, have been treated with a salt brine (a salt/water mix) which helps prevent ice and snow from sticking to the roadways.

Both Lake and Ashtabula counties are under a Lake Effect Snow Advisory until 10 p.m. Saturday. Accumulation is not expected to be too substantial.
