CANTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio-- A man accused of murdering his estranged wife outside of Astoria Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Canton Township is expected in court Friday to face an aggravated murder charge.

Dragan Sekulic was arrested shortly after the Stark County Sheriff's Office said he shot 37-year-old Zeljka Sekulic, as she was leaving work at the nursing home. Dragan Sekulic was arrested in southern Ohio hours later.

Family and friends are still in shock over her death.

Diane Triplett says Zeljka Sekulic was a hard-working, dedicated nurse, who loved her two daughters. "She worked so hard to succeed and she did," said Triplett. "She would do anything for anyone."

And, as they remember the mother-of-two, they are trying to raise money to pay for her funeral. "She was a beautiful, intelligent, amazing mother of two young girls, a strong and supportive sister, a wonderful daughter, and a bright, bubbly aunt. The loss of her life and infectious smile will weigh heavily on our family for the rest of our lives," the GoFundMe page said.

The organizers said they also hope to raise enough money so Zeljka's mother and sister can attend the funeral from Europe.

According to the sheriff's office, Dragan Sekulic was out on bond for a November domestic incident involving his wife when the shooting happened. He was charged with felonious assault, domestic violence, open container and operating a vehicle under the influence.

The couple's two daughters are staying with family members.
