Woman sexually assaulted in Medina development, police say

MEDINA TOWNSHIP, Ohio– Police in Medina Township are investigating after a woman was attacked Thursday evening.

It happened at about 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of Hamilton and Blakeslee Roads. According to Chief David Arbogast, the woman was out exercising when a car with up to three people inside it pulled up next to her. One person got out of the car to allegedly ask for directions. It was then that the victim was sexually assaulted.

She was taken to a local hospital.

Police and members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation returned to the scene Friday afternoon. Additional evidence was collected and the BCI will be analyzing it.

Investigators plan on talking to the victim again before they release descriptions of the vehicle or its occupants.

Investigators are keeping in mind that the area is a short distance from Interstate 71 and state Route 3.  Police also said they will be increasing patrols in the area of the attack.
