NEW ORLEANS – The Cleveland Cavaliers (13-5) started off hot against the New Orleans Pelicans (4-15) on Friday night, but after heading into overtime, the Pelicans came away with the 114-108 win.

The Cavs made 5/5 to start the game, with J.R. Smith really dominating the quarter with five 3-pointers.

The Pelicans didn’t fall behind the Cavs much early on, with Smith, LeBron James and Kevin Love all went into halftime with double figures as the Cavs led 55-52.

The lead slipped away in the third quarter as the Pelicans had up to a 10-point lead at one time.

The Pelicans really looked like they were working towards their fifth win of the season, but as the quarter closed out, the Cavs made a comeback to take things into overtime.

The Cavs remain on the road following Friday’s game to take on James’ former team, the Miami Heat, on Saturday night. They will be back in Cleveland Tuesday to take on the Portland Trailblazers.
